Our 10-Step Fund Selection Process
- 01. Define the Investment Objective — Understand the client’s goal, investment horizon, liquidity requirement, and expected outcome.
- 02. Determine the Suitable Category — Map the investment objective and time horizon to an appropriate mutual fund category.
- 03. AMC & Fund House Review — Review the AMC’s track record, assets under management, investment framework, and fund management stability.
- 04. Performance Analysis — Evaluate rolling returns across different periods and compare performance with relevant benchmarks and category peers.
- 05. Risk-Adjusted Analysis — Assess measures such as Sharpe Ratio, Sortino Ratio, and Standard Deviation to understand returns relative to risk.
- 06. Cost & Expense Review — Review expense ratios and other relevant costs as part of the overall suitability assessment.
- 07. Fund Manager & Portfolio Review — Review fund manager tenure, investment style, portfolio construction, sector concentration, and credit quality.
- 08. Riskometer & Client Risk Mapping — Compare the scheme’s risk level with the client’s assessed risk profile before any recommendation.
- 09. Internal Review & Documentation — Review the final selection internally and document it before inclusion in the recommended universe.
- 10. Periodic Monitoring — Review recommended schemes periodically. Material changes in portfolio, management, performance, or risk trigger an additional review.

Client Suitability Comes First
A fund is not selected only because of its past performance. Our process starts with the client’s requirement, not the product.
- Client Profile → Financial Goal → Time Horizon → Risk Profile → Suitable Category → Scheme Selection → Periodic Review
03
Our Selection Filters
A scheme may be excluded from our recommended universe when our defined selection criteria are not met.
- Significant regulatory concerns.
- Unsuitable credit quality in debt portfolios.
- Excessive portfolio concentration.
- Unstable fund management.
- Material deterioration in investment process.
- Persistent deviation from stated investment mandate.
- Risk level inconsistent with intended client suitability.
04
Risk Profiling & Suitability
We do not treat every investor or every goal the same way. The same mutual fund could have different suitability depending on:
- Risk profile.
- Investment horizon.
- Financial objective.
- Liquidity requirement.
- Existing portfolio.
- Overall asset allocation.
Our approach is simple: the right solution for the client, not simply the best-performing fund.
05
Ongoing Review
Fund selection is not a one-time exercise. When material changes occur, the scheme is reassessed against our selection framework.
- Performance | Risk | Portfolio Changes | Fund Manager Changes | AMC Developments | Regulatory Updates | Category Trends

Important Note
Mutual fund selection involves market risk, and past performance does not assure future results. Final suitability depends on the investor’s individual circumstances, objectives, and risk profile.
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme-related documents carefully.
